Hens Party Games - Post-it Notes

This hens party game is a great one for getting to know one another better and is a really nice one for the bride as she has a chance to reminisce with close friends.  To play this game you will need a number of large post-it notes and pens.  Each guest must then write a sentence or two of a memory that they have of the bride, and pass it back to you.  All notes are then placed in a hat for the bride to take out and read aloud.

She must then guess who wrote whatstory, what it is about and then tell the story to the rest of the group.  This is high on my list of hens party games as it adds that personal touch and is quite often a real laugh for everyone involved.

Lasso the Man

Hens Party Games that encourages a lot of interaction with the local men and can be a way to earn drinks for the night..

The only prop you need is a long rope tied into a lasso.  Then, at some point in the event you will want to introduce the game and send the girls out into the bar to find some volunteers.  Line the volunteers up in front of the girls and everyone gets a chance to rope their man.

Hens party games - Write a Story

These Hens Party Games involve some preparation but are ultimately worth it.  The first thing is to sit down with the bride and/or groom and find out how they met and aabout the start of their relationship.  With this knowledge in hand you will need to write out the story, and then create a new version where a lot of the significant words have been omitted.

Each guest on the night is then given a copy of the story and asked to fill in the gaps and then read out their stories.  This can be absolutely brilliant where someone says something like ‘he tackled her instead of kissed her, or he showed her his ???? instead of his watch.  You get my drift I’m sure.

The winners are those with the best voted stories either by the hen or the group.

Hens Party Games: Creating a Wedding Dress

A tried and tested hens party game – the wedding dress design allows you to get creative and fits perfectly with the wedding day theme.  The first thing you need to do to get this game going is to split into teams of three.  Each team will have: a designer, assistant designer and a model.

The team is then given a LOT of toilet paper, newpaper and/or garbage bags and a time limit.  They must then dress their model in a new toilet paper wedding dress.  The best design at the end of the time limit is the winner.

Hens Party Games - A Buck for a suck game

An extremely simple hens party game that will enable the hen to interact with lots of people and also make some money for drinks!  Basically you need to get a load of lifesaver lollies and attach them to her clothes with string or however else works for you.  Then you will need to attach a sign saying ‘a buck for a suck’.  A man will then have to pay $1 to suck one of the lifesavers off the hen.

A manual on selecting the perfect hens party games

The overarching success of every hens party is incredibly influenced by the quality of hens party games that you played on the night. So often you hear of girls whining about just how inane the activities were, or even worse, how dull.

The main answer to avoiding this response and developing a real high is to begin by matching the hens party games with the designated theme. By doing this you will guarantee that the activities fit together, that they run well with the other elements of the party and the girls will understand what to expect. For example, a couples questions game will just not make sense in a packed club as the girls will be unable to hear what is taking place and will be very likely to be put off by the other exciting activities around them.

The next thing to consider is at what time you will begin the games? Will they be played at the start of the party and work as ice-breakers for the girls, or will the games be played after some drinks when inhibitions may have dropped away a bit further. Providing you choose a well thought out time for the correct activity even the silliest of games will turn into the girls favourite quite rapidly. This is definitely true of drinking games as they have been known cause the night to end rather early if a few of the party goers get too excited too quickly.

The third point to hone in on is where. If you are organising your hens party in someone’s home then you should have quite a wide scope to engage in more personal and courageous games as the other guests will be more comfortable in disclosing secrets. Your home can also be conducive to games that take set up and extras. On the flip, a bar or nightclub will need you to find activities that necessitate less preparation and can be started without the requirement of even tables and chairs. The bar will also offer a greater atmosphere and allow you to to get others enmeshed in the endeavours. So ensure you opt for games that suit your location. Remember, Pin the ’tail’ on the man could be an excellent game for the house but not so apt for the upmarket restaurant. You might think that sounds inane, but believe me it happens!

The fourth point is to opt for games that go hand in hand with your audience, you will find that one hens party will jump to play games entailing whipped cream and a half dressed stripper, while others will find this completely distressing. So make sure you know know early on who is attending and you can set the tone to match.

That directs us to one final task – researching the ending list of hens party games to play! There are a plethora of sites out there providing games available for play, some truly great and others quite honestly awful. But the great thing about listening the guidelines above is that even a lame game will work when used at the correct moment, situation and venue. This is is owing to what the guests are thinking they will see. If you organise a ritzy event and you try a whacky party idea then it’s likely that the guests will be shocked and deem it as a mite over the top and not get involved, and the same is true in the reverse situation. However hold a Mad Hatters Tea Party and play some silly out of control game and your hens will adore! Strange but true.

Classy Hen Party Ideas - Fashion

Here is a great article from the Hens Party Girls:

Pretty much every woman loves fashion and what better way to bring everyone together than to organise a day with a personal fashion consultant.  The crux of this classy hen party is that the consultant will talk about general principles in finding the right styles and shapes for the season and body types, following on later with personal sessions with the girls to give them an overview on just what will suit them.  I like to also add a beautician to the day who will also give tips and a mini make-over for the bride at the very least.  During the session you can all drink champagne and discuss your own tastes and styles, and afterwards head out to the stores to use your new found knowledge of the fashion world! At the end of the day you can either construct your own fashion show at home or find a real one that is happening in your local city.  This day is a lot of fun – just beware of the costs as it can really skyrocket!

Classy hen party ideas - Day Spa

This is one of my favourite classy hen party ideas as it is a perfect opportunity for the bride to really relax amid the stress of planning her wedding.  What’s more it can be a great break for the bridesmaids as well.  You can do this at home or at a salon depending on your budget and best of all if provides a space where everyone can really talk and have fun together without the hinderance of loud music or slightly too much to drink.
Settle back and enjoy!

Classy Hen Party Ideas - Wine Tasting Tour

Wine and cheese tasting is one of my favourite classy hen party activities as it both a relaxing day but also incredibly interesting and allows everyone to really get to know each other in an informal setting.  Whether you are a wine buff or a complete novice, this theme allows you all to escape the hustle and bustle and takes things at your own pace.  Meander around some beautiful countryside, learn about and taste fine wines, and if possible just relax over a lunch that is matched to the wines.  Pure bliss.

Classy Hen Party Games

One of the most difficult parts of choosing the classy hen party option is trying to select activities that will suit the occasion.  While hard core drinking games, pole dancing and risque dares are often hits at your traditional hens party, a classy hen party needs a little more subtly. In general, classy hen party games can be played in any location and will be more intimate and quieter.  However, you also don’t want them to be boring either!  My top tip would be the couples quiz, but you can also find more in the classy hen party games category. Have fun!

Hen Night Dares

One of the most popular games for your hens party is Hens Night Dares.  These can be as tame or as scary as you like, the key is to find a good mix of dares that will be challenging but not so hard as to stop anyone from wanting to play altogether.  So how do you play - check out:  http://www.henspartygirls.com/hens-party-games/hens-night-dares

Hens Party Games

Every Hens Party simply must have games. They are a great way for everyone to get to know each other and the bride better, they break down barriers and most importantly they are a LOT of fun!

The question is what games do you want to play? Well first off, find out who is going to be at the Hens Party and also think about the type of things that the bride will find acceptable. It is quite alright to push the boundaries a bit but there is a limit. Well there is in most cases anyway.

Once you have that down think about your venue and what suits. Will it be noisy or will there be other people around? This can even be an opportunity. I particularly love going to a crowded place and getting the attractive guys involved in our evening. Be it a dare for the bride or just to buy the drinks the boys can be great hens party games in themselves…

Otherwise if you are at home then you can be a little bit more risqué with your games and use the opportunity to play some dirty games that may not be so pc in public.
